Acrylic Pouring Art is one of the more increasingly popular art forms or hobby ideas also known as fluid art painting. This is a wonderful technique of painting with acrylics that can easily be used by beginners. Pouring is also a lot of fun and therapeutic as well.
In this class you will be creating a round canvas acrylic pour that you will be able to take home. Supplies provided. This class will include the use of latex gloves (if you are allergic to latex please bring a pair of tight-fitting gloves to wear for direct contact while working with your canvas).
Oil Painting Techniques IV - April 8th

Gina Torello has joined us at the Jersey Shore Art Center in January for one Satuday workshop per month. Gina will pick a different painting for each workshop teaching Oil Painting Techniques to everyone.
Each workshop must be registered for separately!
(There will be no May Workshop)
Confidence is taught by proper structure of technique and application of the materials. Through this hands–on-course, students will learn diverse painting styles, as well as various master techniques. We will cover concepts such as: working lean to fat, impasto, Alla Prima and under painting specific for each image and subject within the image. Finished paintings will be 5x7 or 8 x10 in size with references provided by your instructor in the step by step structured class. All levels are always welcomed. A supply list is provided on your registration receipt.

Princeton select brushes 1#0/0 short liner, #2 chisel blender, #1/4 lunar blender, #1/8 angular shader petite, Princeton velvetouch brushes #1/16 angle shader#1/4 angular shader, ##4, #6,#8 filbert theses are small brushes for small canvases. Palette knife Blick style #2 Paper towels, and a jar to put the thinner in while using.

Mask Making

Saturday, May 6th - 12noon to 2PM

This two-hour workshop will allow artists and hobbyists alike to engage in artistic self-reflection. There will be a variety of masks to choose from and then the fun begins with creating your own masks.
Each participant will decorate a mask to reflect their own personalities. There will be several blank and pre-painted masks to choose from and embellishments to add on. Participants may choose to make a mask for a Mother's Day gift as an expression of love, or create the mask as an object to display on the wall.
Mask making is a art form used in many countries around the world. The teacher will bring masks that have been made in Italy to reveal how this art form may be your next passion.as a collector or as a creator. All supplies will be provided.
